Setting up your school: the recommended order
Most screens in Wird depend on earlier ones. A timetable needs sections, subjects and teachers. Fees need classes. If you follow this order, you will not have to go back.
Before you start
Prepare three lists in a spreadsheet: your classes and sections, the subjects taught in each class, and your teachers with their email addresses. Each teacher signs in with their own email, so make sure the addresses are correct.
The order that works
- General Settings: school name, logo, contact details, time zone and currency.
- Session Year: create the current academic year and set it as the default.
- Medium, Section, Subject: the building blocks. Add Semester, Stream or Shift only if your school uses them.
- Class and Class Subject: create classes and choose the subjects for each one.
- Teachers: add your teachers.
- Class Section & Teachers: choose the class teacher and subject teachers for each section.
- Students Admission or Add Bulk Data: add students with their guardians.
- Create Timetable: build the weekly timetable for each section.
- Fees Type and Manage Fee: set up fees for each class.
- Exam Grade and Manage Exam: prepare your first exam when you need it.
Check your work
- Sign in with one teacher account and confirm they see their classes.
- Open one student and confirm the guardian is linked.
- Open the timetable of one section and check that every period has a teacher.
